One RV and Fifty-One People
Have you ever been searched? We haven’t. Although it is always at the back of our mind whenever we cross the border. Not because we have anything to hide. Simply because of the hassle. We’ve come across RVers that have had to go through the process of being thoroughly searched by customs officers. The overall experience is not pleasant. Strangers that come into your home on wheels and go through all of your belongings. The process is time-consuming. The process is intrusive. And really, what might you find inside an RV?
Presidio County is located in Texas. The county runs alongside the Mexican border. Highway 67 intersects the county and provides access to the border into Mexico.
Presidio County deputies pulled over a fifth wheel a few days back on Highway 67. The traffic stop was initiated because the fifth wheel did not have any licence plates. The deputies searched the RV.
What did they find inside?
Fifty-one undocumented immigrants.
How on earth did all of those people fit into that RV?
